Who Can Swim:   Anyone who can safely manage the distance they’re registering for is welcome to participate!  Enter either the wetsuit or non-wetsuit division.   We’ve set a minimum age of 12 to participate - if you  are younger than that, you’ll need to prove you can make it first!  Contact Patty to work out the details or to make your case.

Who’s Behind all this?    The City of Kent is providing the park, the beach, and the lifeguards.  Raise the Bar is providing the Event organization.

Rules....

Not to spoil anyone’s fun, but there  are a few guidelines.....

1) If you get into some trouble and need help, wave your hand above your head and call for help.  A lifeguard, police officer, kayaker, or other water staff will happily help you.

2) The race distance/division you start in is the distance you’ll receive an official finishing time for.  For example, if you sign up for the 2.4 miler and decide to stop after the 1st lap and only swim 1.2 - that’s just fine with us - but you won’t be counted in the results for the 1.2 race.  Also - If you begin the race in the wetsuit division and decide to finish the race sans-wetsuit, your time will stand in the wetsuit division. (don’t laugh - it’s happened!)
